Macha’s Orchard Armagh Bramley powder is made entirely from Bramley apples grown within a small, designated area which has its own microclimate and produces the unique Armagh Bramley which has Protected Geographical Indication status.

Apples have been grown in Armagh since the advent of Christianity in Ireland.

Macha was the ancient Goddess who gave rise to the name of Armagh and its distinction on the island of being called the Orchard County.

Our unique Bramley apple powder is made from the peel and cores of the apples.  Scientific reports would indicate that the peel can be the most beneficial part of the apple.  Likewise, the cores provide a healthy source of fibre.  Bramley has a unique flavour due to the high level of malic acid and low level of sugar.

The apple peel and cores are very gently dried to retain the nutrients in an environmentally friendly and low carbon process.  As well as being high in soluble fibre, our apple powder is high in vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin) and B6. It is also high in antioxidants.

It utilises recycled elements of the Bramley apple and constitutes a sustainable and environmentally friendly food with major health benefits.
